This collage was inspired by all the staring contests that I had as a child (and some as an adult). I was never very good at staring contests. I always found them to be silly and I would giggle and lose. This never prevented me from engaging in them however.

"They Had a Love-Hate Relationship". Framed Collage.

I hope everyone is having a great Memorial Day weekend! I have spent most of my weekend procrastinating. It seems like the more that I have to do the less energy I have to do them. I'm always envious of the people who can seemingly do it all. You know, the ones who write books, raise families, run businesses, teach classes, etc all at the same time and seem to still have energy to do more. I'm not one of those people, but I do my best. I did manage to finish a new piece, so that's a step in the right direction.

"Bird Surfing". Collage

I used stencil paste, paint, and oil pastels to create the texture on this mat. Stencil paste has become one of my favorite materials to use in my work. I just love the texture that it provides. It creates that old and worn look that I've always been attracted to.

I have really enjoyed collaging and altering the mats and frames that I use for my collages. It makes the whole piece a work of art and not just the image itself.

"Bunny Boy and the Floating Strawberries" SOLD

The great thing about art is those serendipitous moments. This piece is a perfect example of that . When I was gluing the background papers for this piece I failed to check which end the hanger was on the back. Of course, I had the piece upside down. So my strawberries were facing the wrong way from what I had originally intended. I actually like it a little better this way. Floating strawberries are something unusual and I love it in the title.

Art Show

I was an exhibitor at the ARTSCAPE art show at Capaha Park in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on Saturday. The show was a much bigger success than I could have ever hoped for. This piece measures 12 x 7" with the easel. The image itself is 9 x 7".

The image was created by combining decorative papes, vintage images,stamps, and paint onto canvas board. The background has a slightly raised texture from where paper has been peeled and where paint has been applied. It has a wonderful distressed look to it.

This piece measures 6 x 14.5" when hung. The image itself measures 6 x 8".

The image was created by combining decorative papers, vintage images, and paint onto canvas board. The canvas has great texture where paper has been peeled and layers of paint have been applied. The canvas board is hung by a champainge colored ribbon.

This is a combination of a silkscreen print and collage. This is a new series of my silkscreen prints and will include the silkscreend "Bucky" image and different collage elements throughout the series.
