Whimsical Wanderings of the Every Day

Come see me and my work at the Monkey Mind Art Studio and Gallery in Frankfort, IL. The reception for the show will be January 7, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. There will be snacks and lots of art and I will also be in attendance for chit chatting, gossip and talking about art. The work will be available for perusing and for purchasing from December 27 through February 4.
I will also be holding a one day workshop on February 5, 2011 at Monkey Mind. We will be making and altering furniture pieces and found sculptural pieces. It will be a day of fun and creativity! Contact Patty at Monkey Mind or myself to sign-up or for more information.

Happy Holidays

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and a healthy and happy New Year!

New Flower Brooches

New brooches have now been posted in the etsy shop.
This are both original pieces and feature my art work hanging from a fabric flower. These would really look great on a jacket or even as an alternative to the typical flowers or a boutonnieres in a wedding perhaps?

A Garden Variety Rabbit

This is a collage sculpture which measures 13 x 6". The rabbit itself is ceramic which I added all of the surface details on. This was quite a fun project, so don't be surprised if you see more of these.
This piece is now listed in my etsy shop.

New Stuff!!

Cardinal Necklace
Assemblage necklace.

A Hummingbird Relocation Project
This is a multi-dimensional framed art piece. Features a reproduction print of mine as well as some original collage work.
Both this piece and the Cardinal necklace are now available on Etsy.
I am also working a couple of new holiday ornaments so stay tuned for those.

The Perfect Man

Yes he is! He's strong, he brings you flowers and he's kind to animals!
Reproduction print.

Inspired

Two new original ornaments which are now available in my Etsy shop. These pieces were inspired by the pictures below.

Heart ornaments found at http://bhg.com.

Antique ornament found in the Southern Lady Holiday 2010 magazine.

Double Up

I was browsing the Spring 2010 issue of Decor magazine and came across the image above of the birds in silhouette. I was inspired and decided to see what I could create.
The second image is what I came up with. The piece is titled, "Double Up". It is a 8x10" original digital print with additional hand-drawn details that were added after the piece was printed.
I may offer these with slightly different details in the future.

Art Opening and Reception

My work has been chosen to be a part of a year long pulic art exhibition in Algonquin, IL. There will be a reception for all of the artists chosen this year on 10/21 from 6-8pm at the Algonquin Village Hall at 2200 Harnish Dr. Algonquin, IL.
