"Bird and Nest III" Framed Collage

This is the third in my "Bird and Nest" series.
This piece measures 6.5 x 5 x 1" when the framed is closed and 11.5 x 5" when the frame is fully opened.
The frame has been painted and heavily distressed. It reminds me of old windows that have layers and layers of paint, complete with chipped paint that reveals its previous colors.
This little collage can be hung or it can be displayed as a sculptural piece. A thin layer of plexi glass covers the image.

This piece is my latest in my collages with hangers and my newest doll themed work.

I live out in the country and since it has been so warm and beautiful lately, I have been outside enjoying the weather. The idea for this collage came to me after spending time relaxing outside and enjoying the nature around me.

"Raven II" Art Doll

This art doll is a assemblage piece and is the second in the series of "Raven" art dolls. This piece measures 14 x 9".
The doll is a combination of found objects and images. The body of the doll is made of wood which has been painted black and a birds nest has been decopaged to the torso. Attached to the torso are doll arms that have also been painted black, an artificial raven's head, and black feathers.
The skirt of the doll is made of heavy wire and has woven dried flowers around the entire skirt.
The base is wood and attached are an artificial birds nest and eggs.

This is a hanging, altered, collage drink coaster (the coaster is very thick).
